# Password protection

If you would like to apply simple username and password to a certain area of your website then you can enable that via the security section of your website management.

The first step is to visit your site and note down the address of the page that you would like to enable password protection for.

Then head to security in you website configuration and create a new **Restricted URL**.

For the URL you should enter just the path of the page, so from the example above you would enter /gallery/food/ then choose the authentication method as **Basic Username / Password** and enter the details you would like to proect the page with.
