Unlike the [press site](https://support.digitalphotogallery.com/articles/article/a5dde540-8376-11e7-8b00-76c92ec7a447), this gallery is meant to be accessed by the public and includes sharing options to social media. You can customise the design as much or as little as you like, from adding a simple logo to a full HTML skin to match your current web presence exactly. If your event requires a different set of pages and keywords, follow the guide then see [Adding new sections](https://support.digitalphotogallery.com/articles/article/823a1b3e-f21e-11e6-b72f-6e61028599f7). ### Create the site Visit the [websites screen](https://admin.digitalphotogallery.com/account/websites), click on the **New site** tab. Under the configuration options choose **Music Festival Public Gallery [Switchable]**. Select an initial theme and layout (this can be changed later). Click **Create** and give your site a name. If your site is for an annual event you can optionally add a year **Page Group**, which will make the addition of future pages much easier. Click **Advanced Options** and in the **Page group** section enter the current year or season, for example **2017**. Please be patient and stay on the screen while it does.} ### Fill in header and page title text {video:c663ff92-b45f-11e7-9b29-1e21557f5317 Once the site has been created you can replace the default text with your own information. ### Add a logo and customise site design [▶ Video](https://cache.dpg.media/hyqelgcvfopo/videos/9002b968-b462-11e7-be7a-1e21557f5317/9ded0484-b462-11e7-be7a-1e21557f5317.mp4) From website overview screen, click **Edit Design**. Here you can change the base theme and layout, as well as other design elements on the page. To add a logo, click on **Design**, select **Header** and choose a logo file to upload. You can change the size of the logo on the page by using the **Scale** option. > 💡 **Tip:** If possible, use an SVG or PNG file for your logo. The recommended minimum width for the logo image is 2048px, which will be scaled for all devices automatically. You can also make any other adjustments to design elements, colours and fonts in the **Design** section. ### Add a header image [▶ Video](https://cache.dpg.media/hyqelgcvfopo/videos/9ff7a618-b4e3-11e7-8d43-1e21557f5317/b5c5f1a2-b4e3-11e7-8d43-1e21557f5317.mp4) Another easy way to personalise the gallery is to add a header image. From the **Design** tab select **Topbar** and choose a header image to upload. You can toggle between desktop and mobile view to see how your design will look on different devices. > 💡 **Tip:** Use a high resolution image with a standard 3:2 aspect ratio. DPG will optimise the image on upload and make sure that it looks great across all devices. ### Add website icons [▶ Video](https://cache.dpg.media/hyqelgcvfopo/videos/1c57d306-b4e2-11e7-bbb5-d658663aa1e7/2b0598ac-b4e2-11e7-bbb5-d658663aa1e7.mp4) You can add common [website icons](https://support.digitalphotogallery.com/articles/article/a675335e-ac1c-11e2-a89f-f23c91703874) in the side panel of the website overview screen. > 💡 **Tip:** For best results your icon should be in PNG format and a minimum of 512px across, apart from the Pinned Site icon which must be an SVG file. ### Upload and add test images [▶ Video](https://cache.dpg.media/hyqelgcvfopo/videos/6c8f49ac-b4de-11e7-b2ae-d658663aa1e7/7e9fda80-b4de-11e7-b2ae-d658663aa1e7.mp4) Making your site creates corresponding sets in the image admin. [Add some content](https://support.digitalphotogallery.com/articles/article/7b889c02-ab37-11e2-afa4-b8f6b11825bb) to the **Gallery** set to see how it looks on the site using the [image management tools](https://support.digitalphotogallery.com/articles/category/c7ecc5f2-aa90-11e2-b3c5-b8f6b11825bb). If you don't have any images in your account yet, go to the [upload screen](https://support.digitalphotogallery.com/articles/article/304db388-ab34-11e2-aeb3-b8f6b11825bb) to add some. ### Preview your site on the web [▶ Video](https://cache.dpg.media/hyqelgcvfopo/videos/fb911f54-b4e3-11e7-995f-d658663aa1e7/0c2ae688-b4e4-11e7-995f-d658663aa1e7.mp4) Click the **Visit** button to see your site live on the testing host address. The test images you added to the *Gallery* set should now appear here. ### Add social media icons [▶ Video](https://cache.dpg.media/hyqelgcvfopo/videos/0f4f609c-b4e8-11e7-8100-d658663aa1e7/1f9a1956-b4e8-11e7-8100-d658663aa1e7.mp4) Go to **Content** and **Social** to add your social media links to the footer. ![](https://cache.media.digitalphotogallery.com/hyqelgcvfopo/images/e3fd16ae-b4e8-11e7-9a16-d658663aa1e7/1044_support.jpg?generated=20171019171718) You can also add information to the footer of the gallery by going to **Contents** and **Footer**.} > 💡 **Tip:** You can change the appearance of the footer items in the **Design** section. ### Google Analytics DPG collects a number of [statistics and analytics](https://support.digitalphotogallery.com/articles/category/a7435036-096b-11e6-8390-16474ff850f4) automatically, but you can also add Google Analytics to your site. _(Requires edit mode Advanced.)_ {detail:c882103e-82b4-11e7-b419-2e80af156eae > 💡 **Tip:** DPG automatically contains the code to enable demographics and interests reports, so you can [enable](https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/2819948?hl=en) that feature if it is useful to you. ### Add a public host or use your own domain name Before you launch your site you should always add a [public host](https://support.digitalphotogallery.com/articles/article/acf006a6-f69b-11e5-a5da-16474ff850f4). Public hosts are indexed by search engines and content served from a public host loads faster in browsers. A public host could be [your own domain name](https://support.digitalphotogallery.com/articles/article/d5598eb2-ac59-11e2-9f92-d49a20fffecc) or one of our free dpg.gallery or festival.gallery addresses. > ⚠️ **Warning:** The testing dpg.cc address is uncached, so it's useful for checking when you've made any changes to the site, as they will appear immediately.
